1 Tell us about yourself and how did you develop an interest in fashion?
I’m a 24-year-old recent graduate working in the PR industry. I was born and raised in Venezuela, and I’ve been into fashion since I can remember. As a little girl, I always cared about style and used to dress all my dolls in the cutest outfits. While I was growing up, my interest in fashion grew as well. And for one Christmas my mom gave me the best gift ever. It was a digital game that allowed me to design my own collections, dress the models, and host a runway – at that time, I only had eyes for the screen. Then, when I turned 16, I went to Madrid to do a course of fashion design and have a real idea of what a career in this field would look like. My summer in the Istituto di Design was incredible; I learned a lot and presented my first collection. Fashion has always been part of my life and it always will be. It’s the way I express my creative self.
2. One best thing about being a fashion blogger.
One of the best things about being a fashion blogger is that you get to know a lot of people in this industry. People who share and support your passion. It’s like being part of a huge community that never stops growing.
3. Describe your style and who influenced you to pursue fashion.
My favorite fashionista is the protagonist of Sex and The City, Sarah Jessica Parker. I recall watching the show on TV and be amazed by her beautiful and eccentric outfits. She was definitely a great influence. Her vintage vibe and fashionable combos inspired me. Today, my style is chic, elegant and playful – always with an extra touch of creativity to break some fashion rules. If you ask my friends and family, they would say that I wear what nobody else would wear.
4. Is blogging your profession or hobby?
Actually, none of them. Blogging is the result of my passion and the way I found to share my words and style with my audience. However, blogging it does help me a lot with my career in PR, especially in the writing part. I am lucky enough to experience what it is to be behind a computer and in the spotlight. With the years, I am sure that these two paths will merge into one profession.
5. What are your favourite designer and brands you like to shop?
I really don’t have a favorite fashion designer, I like to mix and create. However, I loved the Spring/Summer collection of Dolce & Gabbana this year. I’m also a big fan of Zac Posen and Michael Costello.
The brands that I like to shop are Zara, Uterqüe, Sfera, H&M, Seta apparel, Free People, among others.
6. Things you first notice on anyone’s outfit.
The first thing that I notice in someone’s outfit is the footwear. For me, shoes are a key element of the complete look. And sometimes I see the most amazing outfit with the wrong selection of heels. It happens really often. I think that maybe people put too much effort on the blouse, skirt, and then forget that they need to combine that great outfit with a pair of great shoes.
7. One recent trend that you love the most.
The sock boots trends!
8. One fashion rule you never break.
I never wear more than one velvet piece in an outfit. Sometimes less is more.
9. Your current style icon
10. Which city do you consider most fashionable?
Prague. I went there this fall and loved everything about it. It’s like a fairytale come to life.
11. What is your must-have accessory and perfume?
My must-have accessory is the clutch bags. I’m obsessed with them. And my favorite perfume is called Good Girl by Carolina Herrera
12.One thing you splurge on.
13. What is your favourite item in your closet right now?
My new Zara’s button-down dress made of a soft fabric with a square pattern.
14.What advice do you want to give to other bloggers?
Always stay with a student mentality. Learn how to listen and never be afraid of asking questions. When I decided to be a blogger, I reached out to a lot of bloggers and asked them how did they start blogging to learn from them and use their advice. Also, be yourself and as creative as you can be.
15. If you could have three wishes, what would those be?
1. For my home country, I wish that the current situation of Venezuela comes to an end in order to rebuild the country and help its people
2. For the children in need, I wish them joy and happiness this holiday season
3. For me, I wish to see my family and closest friends soon
