For this specific hairstyle, I balayaged her hair using @scrupleshaircare clay lightener + 20 vol, and I also added @Uberliss which is a bond builder to help protect her hair while lifting it. I used @Framar Funked Up Film to allow the clay bleach to continue lifting and prevent it from drying out. I then used @manicpanicpro in smokescreen and our Pro Pastel-izer to tone. Then I mixed up Violet Velvet + Smoke Screen.

For a hairstyle like this, I like to use a light blow dry spray and a light oil like @epiraforhair coconut oil. I applied this to her mids and ends. I then round brushed her and then used my Beach Waver Pro @thebeachwaver for her beach waves.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type

The best face shape for this style would be someone who has an oval face shape or even a square face shape because the length and layers would take away from the squareness of the face shape. I would say for someone who has a lot of hair, but the individual strands themselves are fine then this would be a great hairstyle because it’ll create fullness in the hair. Also as the purple fades out, it’ll leave her with a beautiful white blonde.

I achieved this look by flat wrapping the curls with a one-inch curling wand. While taking one-inch sections, I curled them in the same direction and used my hands to loosen them to create more of a beachy wave.

I recommended Hot Off The Press hairspray by Paul Mitchell! I’m in love with this hairspray because it’s a heat protectant spray and it’s super light! So while you’re getting that hold, you’re also protecting your hair.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type

I think this hairstyle and length works for round and oval-shaped faces. Having that medium length is perfect for a rounder face because sometimes long hair can appear to make some features appear wider. Having those beachy waves also gives it that volume but at the same time softens the features so they can appear more narrow.

For this style, we wanted something lived in, messy, and effortless. I used one-inch, BaByliss straightener (my favourite). Started at the root, did one rotation and pulled down leaving the ends out! This style would look good on just about anyone and some people are even surprised that they can pull it off! It is a little easier for my fine to normal hair girls, but even my coarse and thick-headed girls can rock it too! It might have to take a few more sections, and use smaller pieces of hair to curl! As for face shape, there are so many variations of a cut and style like this.

For this Modern Edgy Bob, I first started with dimensional colour. I did a full highlight, adding high and lowlights to add dimension and accentuate the texture in this cut. Then using a 1 1/4” curling iron, I styled with this loose beachy wave.

To style, I used Moroccanoil Hydrating Cream to archive a frizz-free blowout. Then I prepped the hair with a heat protectant spray and curled the hair with the Bioionic Long Barrel curling iron. To finish, I used Amika Undone Texture Spray and combed through the hair using my fingers to create beachy texture.

A textured bob is such a versatile haircut that any face shape can wear it. It can be sleek and a line or worn with a textured wave. It can be worn with layers to bring volume to thin hair or textured to take out unwanted weight in think hair.

For this hairstyle, we were transitioning her from being an all over bleach out to something that was easier to maintain. We wanted to do this while still leaving her feeling super blonde so I alternated highlights with backcombed highlights. I then painted a shadow root effect on the pieces that were left out of the highlights to add more dimension. Once this was all done, we toned her hair with an ash based toner to remove warmth.

Recommended Products

For this style, I recommend that people use a blue or purple shampoo and conditioner to keep the warmth out. Since her hair has been through a fair amount of lightning, I also would recommend a mask for once a week and a leave-in conditioner!

Best Face Shape and Hair Type

I think that this hairstyle is good for almost any face shape! We did minimal layers to keep it nice and blunt. Depending on the length of the bob, you can either draw attention or remove attention to certain areas. One thing to also consider when doing an ash toned blonde is whether it would work with their skin tone! Some people have the style to pull off a super ashy look, but if people are looking for the most flattering option, it often is something with more natural warmth!

How to Style

I achieved this style with a 1-inch curling iron. I divide the hair in half down the middle then divide both sections in half again horizontally. I take “chunks” of hair and make barrel curls away from the face in each section. Then I let it set a couple of mins before taking a wide-tooth plastic comb and with one swipe loosening the barrel curls into soft waves.

Recommended Products

I started with a heat protectant spray on dry hair. And finished with a medium hold texture spray such as AG Hair Tousled Texture.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type

I love this style so much and use this technique on a lot of my clients because of the versatility. It really looks good on almost anyone. I use the same technique on longer hair, as well as on shorter hair. I especially love it on finer, thinner hair because it makes hair look fuller.
