I achieved this colour and style with Schwarzkopf professional colour 1-0 at the root with Joico intensity indigo to add a blue sheen. The ends I toned with Schwarzkopf absolutes silver-white in silver. I then blew it out straight and styled it with my Paul Mitchell neuro smooth flat iron to make “broken waves” by twisting the iron slightly to give a little bend.

Recommended Products

The products I would recommend would be a thermal protection spray. So, the hair isn’€™t damaged by heat tools and a texture spray if you have fine hair to give some lift and definition.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type

This hairstyle is great for any hair type because you can add layers if your hair is thicker or keep it all one length for fine hair. Regarding face shape, I feel it’€™s better for softer face shapes because of the angle. If you have a more angular face, I would add in some face-framing pieces to soften the look.

I created this choppy bob by establishing the perimeter above the shoulder near her jawline. The line has been chipped into to create movement, and an irregular lived in feeling. Then I softly undercut the nape, removing density and allowing the hair on top to move independently from the underneath. I added some increase layers throughout the crown and left the perimeter around her face disconnected to retain length.

Recommended Products

To style this, I used all @keunenamerica hair care. I applied protein spray for damage control and detangling. Then a volumising heat protectant along with some Sculpting lotion to create style memory and hold. Blew- dried with my hands, for added texture and curled with a one 1/4”€ iron using alternating directions. Then I used Blend Refreshing Balm (dry matte texture paste) in the roots to create a tousled texture and oil absorption.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type

This style is best suited for oval, diamond and heart-shaped faces because the length sits at the jaw. Finer hair with medium density works best, with regular haircuts every six weeks to maintain the shape.

How To Style

First, you have to have a hairstylist that knows how to cut a great French bob/lob. The layers and texture have to be right to get the right movement and feel for the look. I tend to do a lot of this style, and I love it! I used a smoothing cream & Denman brush during blow dry. This client has very thick, unruly, coarse, curly hair. I finished with a curling iron to set in the waves I wanted. Alternating each 1” section, I curled forward and then back to give the more beachy textured waves.

Recommended Products

Products to use to achieve this look can vary depending on what type of hair each client has. For very thick, coarse, curly texture I would suggest a smoothing cream to start and finish with such as Bumble and Bumble’s Smoothing cream or It’s a 10 Potion 10. If you have a more fine-medium texture, I love finishing this look with Kenra’s Platinum Dry Texture Spray as well as their Working hairspray.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type

This look is very versatile. It can be easily be customised for each client. The length can be changed depending on where it would suit each face shape; you can add fringe or not. It is probably one of the most €œuser friendly€ styles and why it is so highly sought out.

I applied a dark root colour then added some balayage highlights to the ends, followed by an ash toner. The cut is a graduated concave bob with some choppy layers through the top. The style was achieved using a Ghd classic curl wand 2 cm sections wrapping around the tong away from the face on both sides. Once the curls have cooled, blast with cold air from the hairdryer and style with fingers.

Recommended Products

Leave in treatment Redken anti-snap to blast dry and provide thermal protection. Texture spray Redken windblown after curls have cooled to give the gritty hair separation.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type

This style is perfected for rectangular/oblong as the length on the jawline and texture gives width to the face but could easily be adapted for round and square if you increase the length to elongate the face.
