I achieved this textured bob with razor and shears. Soft layering along the bottom of the haircut helps to give movement and texture to this shape.

Recommended Products

I used all the Aveda products for this style. Damage control for heat protecting, smoothing fluid for shine and Thickening Tonic at the roots to add volume and fullness. Finished off the look with Air Control Hairspray.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type

This look is best for most face shapes and fine to medium hair. It is a low maintenance cut that has to be maintained or grown out. I recommend getting a trim every six weeks to maintain this look.

Purple Blunt Bob

How to Style

It is a blunt square cut bob done with no layering and lots of texture. I coloured her little side party panels by lightening two small sections, rinsing, then colour melting a combination of pulp riot colours to the panels.

Recommended Products

For styling, I would recommend Verb Ghost Prep because you can air dry easily with your natural texture or blow dry and beach wave / flat iron and so on for any desired effect. I like to finish with Verb Sea Texture Spray for that messy, dishevelled effect. Aside from that, I’m not big on products, so anything that nourishes and protects from frizz is good to me.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type

Anyone can pull off a bob. You need to consult with a stylist to determine if you need any angle with the permitter and where the most flattering length for your face shape would fall.

To achieve this hairstyle, we started with cutting her hair into a short, texturised lob. We then primed her damp hair with Davines “all in one milk” which is a leave-in/heat protector. Next, we blew the hair smooth. Before curling, I spray the entire head of hair lightly with Davines “gas spray” for extra hold. To get the popular “beach waves,” I love to use my bio ionic 1.25inch long barrel iron. With the length of the barrel being so long, I can curl the whole head in about 7 sections. For more natural looking waves, alternate curl each section of hair toward your face and away from your face. Let the hair cool, then I run my fingers through the hair and spray with Davines “dry texturising spray”.

Recommended Products

Whenever using any source of heat on your hair, it’s essential to use a heat guard! I love to Prime all of my clients with Davines “all in one milk”. For texturised looks like this yes, my favourite texturising spray is Davines “dry texturising spray.”

Best Face Shape and Hair Type

The great thing about this look is that this haircut and style is virtually flattering for every face shape and hair type!

Chelsea has extremely thick curly hair that gets frizzy easily in our Houston weather, so the first thing to do was smooth it out with a good blow out.

Recommended Products

I used Kerastase Keratin Thermique, five pumps of Kerastase Oleo Relax Serum, and Aveda’s Confixor liquid gel for hold.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type

This haircut is a simple blunt bob with much texture, especially because of her unruly curls.

I cut a graduated bob with layers and bangs on my model savannah. Then I blow-dried her hair straight and flat ironed it. For the Photo, I pushed all these layers forward and roughed up her texture.

Recommended Products

I only used oil on her hair when I was blow drying it. But, you could use dry shampoo, dry texture spray, matte texture paste or clay something with a little grit to it.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type

Any haircut like this can work with any texture and face shape.

I achieved this look by blow-drying her hair as smooth as I could. I used R and CO’s Park Avenue blowout balm to fight against humidity and smooth out her natural curl. Then using alternating sections with my flat iron, I put in some vertical loose curls. Vertical would ensure the style looks more beachy versus glamorous pinup style.

Recommended Products

I applied blowout balm on Towel dried hair and then used Redken 03 fabricate before heat styling. Because she naturally has curly hair, she requested no hairspray as her hair would hold tight on to the curl as it is.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type

The best hair type that would look great with style is someone who already has naturally wavy hair who wants to enhance a few of their curls! You can skip sections and focus more on the front when you have wavy hair already. For someone who has straight hair, they would have to make sure they grab every section!

This hairstyle is an angled bob with a soft face frame and layers.

Recommended Products

I recommend using Kenra Blowdry Spray as a humidity blocker, shine spray, and protectant, Kenra Dry Volume Spray for soft volume without stickiness, and Kenra Design Spray because it allows movement yet holds the style softly.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type

This hairstyle would go great with any face shape. You can style it in multiple ways. The side part would create side swept fringe bangs or centre part for more of a face framed lob/bob look.

The Hot Tools 1-inch curling iron is best for achieving this look! To create the best texture, wave and volume, I like to mix up the direction of the curl and leave the ends straight!

We have been growing her hair out for a few years now. My beautiful guest has very thin hair, so we wanted to give her some volume in all the right areas. I like to undercut the back which creates a downward facing ‘V’ shape in the back. So, it is easy when she is flat ironing and styling herself.

Recommended Products

I almost recommend a light consistency gel or mouse when I am blowing, so we get a workable foundation without weighing the hair down. My favourite go-to product is L’ANZA haircare’s ‘Dry Texture.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type

Bobs are a classy, classic look that can be customized for anyone! I find if you have a longer face shape, then adding a textured fringe to the bob can help close of the face and accentuate/ highlight all the right features. For a smaller face shape, creating leaving length on the sides can help extend the look of the face making you feel more slender.

I achieved this style by putting curl enhancer into freshly washed, towel dried hair, which is then diffuse dried. Putting the product into damp, towel dried hair (not dripping wet!) allows the product to spread more evenly onto the hair, which creates even more curls throughout the hair.

Recommended Products

For this client, I used Sebastian Potion 9. but any curl enhancer should work. I set the look with Seven Cubica Working Spray (hairspray).

Best Face Shape and Hair Type

This full, plump curls style would be flattering for any face shape, except perhaps round shapes. Hair type would of course default to curly hair types (!), But a similar look can be achieved for straight-hair types by using a curling iron. Just be sure to use some product on the hair before applying heat for more staying power.

My client had, and I cut her into a Lob. She has very curly hair, so I blew her out with a large round brush and then finished with a flat iron.

I achieved this hairstyle by using the balayage technique to give her a soft highlighted bob. Keeping her with a warm tone to compliment her natural base colour.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type

Best fave shape for this look is someone with either heart-shaped face or round.

How to Style

I achieved this look by balayaging two different colours of blonde into my client’s hair, Keeping in mind that I wanted to keep a lot of golden tones that would compliment her skin colours. I then took a 1 1/4 size curling iron and curled one whole row to the left and then one whole row to the right.

Recommended Products

I like to prep the hair with a heat protectant while wet and layer with a mousse that would help create texture.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type

After having a thorough consultation with my client, we decided that she was looking for shattered bob. She likes her hair short but still wants to have fun with it. I started with a blunt bob. Then after blow drying, I used my thinning shears to completely shatter the interior of the haircut for tons of movement!

Recommended Products

To achieve this style, I used R&CO prep spray, which is essentially a primer for hair, you then layer any other products you choose to use on top of it. For volume, I used R&CO Rodeo Star. And, then to give it that soft textured look, I used R&CO Trophy, which has some gold to it. So I didn’t use hairspray.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type

I don’t believe in face shapes determining haircuts, to be honest, I think that’s very limiting! If you love a hairstyle, go for it! Also, as for specific textures, nowadays, there are so many tools, products, and treatments out there, that everyone has the chance to have their dream hairstyle!
