How To Style

To achieve this hairstyle I went in with a blunt and textured long bob haircut, did a quick blowdry and sleeked it out with some flat iron work focused mostly on the ends of the hair to keep volume in the style.

Recommended Products

The products I’d recommend for this hairstyle are key to not only keeping the hair healthy but also achieving the look! I start with towel dried hair and apply a heat protector on the mid-lengths to ends. I like to finish the look within dry shampoo/texture spray (my favorite is bedroom hair by Kevin Murphy) it helps create volume while showing off the texture and shape of the cut.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type

I believe this cut can look great on many face shapes, specifically an oval shape with a narrow jawline can be great for this cut, to have the hair fall and hit right at the jaw or just below can fill in space around it. As for hair type, many can work if you are the type of person to style your hair often, if not so much I’d say a client with thin and fine hair and naturally straight hair both can be great for this look to make the hair come across fuller. If you’d like color included in question one is say I went in with both fine baby lighting techniques and some tease foil work then finished with a root shadow toner as well as a brighter toner pulled down on her ends.

How To Style

This textured bob is easy to wear and transform from sleek to undone. I Achieved this look by doing interior layering by removing bulk from the midshaft through the ends with each dense section of hair. After blow drying with my Mason Pearson brush, I used my 7-inch shears for deep point cutting through all the ends to create the perfect tousled look. To keep this look on a trend I finished with a 1 inch Hot Tools curling iron to get that undone look!

Recommended Products

I think it’s important to start with a great cutting lotion or primer like Untangled by Kevin Murphy when doing a textured haircut. I like to layer my products as I’m cutting so it’s easily styled in the end. For this look, I layered Antigravity spray by Kevin Murphy to help create some hold and shape for the blowout. Shimmer shine is my go-to product when adding a hot tool finish because it provides lightweight moisture, heat protection and grease free shine for a touchable finish. For my finishing touches, I used Un. Dressed by Kevin Murphy to help add pliable definition to show off this undone look.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type

For me, this is the hardest question to answer. I’m a firm believer that when you wear something with confidence it looks amazing and the rules€œ go out the window! If a client is looking to offset their features as a professional there are many tricks of the trade to help give your client the confidence they’re looking for. The perfect start for this is to determine your length with your client of both your perimeter, layers, and fringe as this will draw the eye immediately to those features. I do find that this textured bob is easily maintained at home on medium to fine hair when provided the proper styling aids such as products, styling tools, and a little education so your client can feel confident they can achieve the look on their own.

An oval face shape is ideal for any look. This style works well with most face shapes. For more square or structured jawlines, I would keep the cut a little longer. The best hair type for this style would be straight to wavy hair.

I achieved this style by bleaching the hair pale yellow and toning to a cool white. Then I colored the root with a dark pink and diluted the color for mid-lengths and ends. The haircut is a blunt cut bob that is slightly angled down by the face. I styled by blow drying smooth with a flat boar bristle brush and finished the ends with a straightener.

Recommended Products

I used Davines Oi all in One Milk and Davines Oi Oil before blow drying to put moisture back in the hair and add soft shine. After the hair is dry and straightened I add a little more oil on the ends to give it a sleeker look.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type

This style can work for any face shape but a blunt cut works best for oval and round shapes that would benefit from a hard line. More angled faces such as square or heart would work with softer more texturized ends.

How To Style

I achieved this look by first shampoo/conditioning the hair. That way the hair is evenly saturated and towel dried to give precise sections using your comb and shears. I cut the hair by section into four big sections starting with the back at the nape slightly graduated taking vertical pie sections from the nape to the occipital bone to give the pixie cut look. And from the occipital bone to crown I cut it diagonal back to make sure the hair blends with the asymmetrical cut. On the left side of the head, I took vertical sections to have it the long pixie cut look and the right side diagonal back to retain the length. After blow drying and style I used my wide tooth texturizing shears to reduce bulk and create flow and movement to the cut.

Recommended Products

I used My Amazing Blow Dry Secret spray and my denim brush to blow dry and style the hair. After I finished off with a flat iron too long sections of the hair to give it a sleek finished look.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type

I would say the best face shape for this cut would be anyone with an oval or heart-shaped face. I would retain more length for anyone who has a stronger bone structure or triangular face shape. And the next type of hair texture would be straight, wavy or curly. It’s always about the finishing touches of the detailing work that makes the haircut fit the persons face shape and hair texture.

I began the cut with a precision bob. Once the base was formed I used a scissor-over-comb Point cutting technique to achieve the gradation effect. This helps to give the hair a freedom of movement.

Recommended Products

The products I use are spray modifiers that are light as to not weigh the hair down. My current favorite is Neuma’s Blowout Mist.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type

The wonderful thing about this cut is it is easily adaptable to all face shapes and most hair types. Cindy (pictured) has stick straight hair and lots of it. A natural wave in the hair would add a little sass to this look. Also, fine limp hair works great with this look because it adds an illusion of fullness.

I used our amazing Italian products: Organic Pure Care. Sun Care Protective Spray, you always should use a leave-in conditioner. Volumizing Foam all throughout the hair. And Curl Booster which is a liquid gel that is versatile and can be used for any style.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type

My model has a slightly round face so it’s perfect for her since it’s at shoulder length. An oval face can definitely wear it. The only one that I would not recommend would be a long rectangle face shape since it would enhance that and run parallel to their face.

Recommended Products

The products used to achieve this style were Eufora Beautifying Serum, Sculpture and Illuminate (which were all applied to wet hair.) Sectioning the hair into 2-inch horizontal sections, I began blowdrying in a downward motion, with high heat, using a round brush to flip the hair in an under movement. This allows the hair to remain smooth, creating a frizz-free look.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type

This is a rounded haircut; therefore, if your face shape is round it will not be the most flattering haircut to compliment your face shape. This hairstyle is great for all hair types! This specific client has very coarse, unruly hair, but it is simple to maintain and style with the right products. I’ve delivered this same look on someone with fine, limp hair and again, with the right mixture of products the hairstyle comes out looking fabulous!
